Reno is one of the two full service DMVs in Northern Nevada. The Reno and Carson City DMVs provide all services including new driver road tests. There are additional rural DMVs in Northern Nevada which limit their services to local residents only.
Practice Route #1: It’s primary route is very straightforward, mostly wide, easy to navigate streets with good visibility to traffic controls, intersections and crosswalks. There are several long stretches – avoid the tendency to exceed the speed limit in some of these areas like Sandhill and Double R Roads which may not have a lot of traffic. There are several well marked pedestrian crossings, notably on S. Meadows, along with a school zone around the intersection of S. Meadows and Evergreen.
Practice Route #2: Similar to route one, this is straightforward course with well marked intersections and good visibility. Be mindful of the school zone on Wilbur May Pkwy. It is well marked, and in our experience we often see the ‘flashing lights’ in the school zone indicating max 15 MPH. Also be very careful on the return, where you are turning left on to Wibur Mays from Back Country. As you turn left, you are already in the school zone so monitor speed along the stretch until you get to the end of the school zone.

Read More signals flashing', others can be 'when children present' or 'during specific hours'. Regardless of whether you need to drop to a lower speed limit, always good to slow down a little and demonstrate to the examiner that you are scanning for pedestrians especially near cross walks. Move your head, not just your eyes, so they can clearly see you are scanning.
Let us know how you do - positive Karma!
